Working of Solar Water Heaters:
Solar water heaters use the Sun’s energy to heat water during the day. This water is stored inside an insulated tank for use whenever required. The Sun rays have enough energy to heat water up to 55°C to 70°C which is more than sufficient for bathing, washing clothes, use in kitchen, etc. With negligible maintenance requirement, Solar water heaters provide a low cost long term solution to getting hot water. For cloudy days, Solar water heaters have a built-in backup electric heating element. Solar water heating (SWH) is the conversion of sunlight into renewable energy for water heating using a solar thermal collector. Solar water heating systems comprise various technologies including FPC and ETC.
